GreenMax is developing the Mini-Grid Consolidation Facility (MGCF) as a technical assistance facility that will manage the consolidation and restructuring of cohorts of existing mini-grid developers into newly-integrated, scalable platforms that will become Africa's utilities of the future.
The MGCF is structured as a first-of-its-kind technical assistance vehicle that manages and funds the consolidation of fragmented mini-grid operators across Sub-Saharan Africa into integrated, institutionally-governed structures – unlocking scale, impact, specialization, efficiency, and returns – preparing these enterprises for investment by new equity vehicles in the distributed renewable energy sector.
