The Mwinda Fund is the flagship off-grid energy and clean cooking platform in the Democratic Republic of Congo — one of the world's largest and most complex energy access markets. The Clean Cooking Window, launched under the DRC's Forest and Savannah Restoration Program (Programme d’Investissement pour la Forêt et la Restauration des Savanes, PIFORES), provides performance-based subsidies and technical assistance to private sector distributors of improved biomass stoves, LPG systems, and electric cooking appliances. With an initial capitalization of $20m, the clean cooking RBF facility aims to reach 500,000 households with clean cooking solutions.
