GreenMax, in association with INENSUS GmbH, provided transaction advisory services under the World Bank-funded LREEAP to prepare bankable mini-grid feasibility studies and procurement documentation at 10 sites in Lesotho.
In 2023, GreenMax, in association with INENSUS GmbH, was retained under the World Bank-funded Lesotho Renewable Energy and Energy Access Project (LREEAP) to support the government of Lesotho by providing technical, financial, procurement/tendering, environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and safeguards due diligence for successful completion of mini-grid transactions at 10 sites where feasibility studies have been carried out. The study includes (i) review of the feasibility study reports to bring them to a "bankable" level; (ii) assessment of the development of detailed feasibility studies, needs assessment, system sizing for mini-grids and PPP models; (iii) development of subsidy policy and fiscal incentive package to mini-grids; and (iv) preparation of a mini-grid procurement/tendering scheme and associated documentation.
