In 2023, GreenMax was retained by the World Bank Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) to conduct a comprehensive assessment of mini-grid sector regulations in 13 African countries. The study included a gap analysis of mini-grid regulatory frameworks, completion of a questionnaire to gather data on the status of solar hybrid mini-grid market development and preparation of a scoring matrix to evaluate and rank each country based on a series of regulatory indicators.
